J.MacArthur Willaert

Music Director, Chorusmaster

J. MacArthur Willaert is a versatile musician, celebrated for his talents as a pianist and conductor. A graduate of North Central College, Willaert's passion for music has taken him on a journey of artistic excellence and community engagement. With a rich background in ensemble direction and accompaniment, Willaert has made significant contributions to the local musical landscape, most recently serving as the Music Director and Chorusmaster of Fox Valley Opera.

Additionally, "Mac" has an extensive background in live performance of pop/rock music and has played with In The Flesh, Chicago's premiere Pink Floyd Cover band. With nearly 20 years of professional piano experience, Mac's journey includes notable achievements such as being a finalist for the Queen Extravaganza, a talent search led by Queen's drummer Roger Taylor." 

Currently, Mac is on the choral staff at Oswego High School and has worked with ensembles such as the Glen Ellyn-Wheaton Chorale. He also serves as the worship pianist for Oswego Presbyterian Church. Willaert is committed to music education and maintains an active studio, offering private piano lessons in Oswego, his hometown. His dedication to nurturing young talents reflects his belief in the transformative power of music education and mentorship.
