Tracey Furling began her musical journey in Springfield, Illinois. Starting at just 6 years old, she captivated audiences in dance recitals, school musicals, talent show circuits, speech team and show choir. Some of her most-acclaimed early performances were staged right in her grandparents’ living room down the street from her childhood home.

Tracey pursued dual undergraduate degrees at Bradley University in Music Business and Vocal Performance. Tracey flourished under the guidance of Dr. Kerry Walters, Andrea Molina, and Molly Sloter; she refined her vocal technique and versatility, performing with Bradley’s many ensembles.

Notably, Tracey sang with Bradley’s Orchestra as a winner of the 2015 Concerto/Aria Competition. Since graduation, Tracey has studied with artists and pedagogues including Allison Meuth, Annie Picard, and Alexandra Loutsion.

Now based in Chicago, Tracey has mesmerized audiences with her colorful voice as Rachel in Patience and Sarah and the Nanny in The Infinite Energy of Ada Lovelace, both Midwest Premieres of new American operas with Third Eye Theatre Ensemble. A versatile performer, Tracey has been a concert soloist in Dan Forrest’s Requiem for the Living, John Rutter’s Requiem, and J.S. Bach’s Cantata No.154 with Salt Creek Chamber Orchestra. Tracey has also performed regularly with Chicago Choral Artists since 2018, performing impactful music like Considering Matthew Shepherd and St. Matthew’s Passion.

In 2023, Tracey debuted three new roles, including Norina in Don Pasquale with Salt Creek Chamber Orchestra; Schaunard in Ouroboros Opera's production of La Femme Boheme; and Foreign Woman in Third Eye Theatre Ensemble's highly anticipated 10-year anniversary show, The Consul.

She is currently teaching voice lessons and producing an opera outreach program in the Chicago suburbs, and singing with Fox Valley Opera, Chicago Choral Artists, NaperVoice, and various churches in Chicago.
