Vera Lynn Bowser is a Chicago-based dramatic soprano, praised for her “luxurious” voice and “honest and emotional connection to text”.
Originally from Wisconsin, Bowser received her degree in Vocal Performance from Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts, after which she spent several years singing with esteemed choirs like the Florentine Opera Chorus and the Chicago Symphony Chorus, joining them on their tour to Carnegie Hall in her first season. Some of Vera’s solo work includes covering Mimi for Music by the Lake, the title role of Bagatelle for New Moon Opera, Anna in the King and I, and most recently, covering Manon in Manon Lescaut and Mrs. Gobineau in La Medium with the Opera Festival of Chicago.
Outside of her musical pursuits, Vera is a watercolor artist, and enjoys spending time with her husband and their German Shepherd, Mimi.
