Zachary Mendenhall, a Dramatic Baritone and Film Composer from Metro Detroit, Michigan, is recognized for his rich timbre and expressive artistry. Mendenhall is a student of international mezzo-soprano Dr. Viktoria Vizin. Recent notable performances include Alpha, a filmed adaptation of Mozart’s Don Giovanni, in which he portrayed Giovanni with Vizin Virtual Ensemble, as well as Haly in Rossini’s L’Italiana in Algeri. He performed Quince in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Chicago Summer Opera and recently appeared as Marco in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi with DePaul Opera Theater. He performed the roles of Fasolt and Fafner in LAHSOW’s Das Rheingold (Wagner), and took on Don Giovanni, Masetto, and Il Commendatore in Opera Aeterna’s Don Giovanni. He will return to Opera Aeterna to sing both Bartolo and Il Conte in Le Nozze di Figaro (Mozart).
